Yellow Door Kitchen is owned by Lau Kin-Wai, a renowned chef, writer and art critic in Hong Kong. This small and pleasant restaurant is located in a non-descript office building in SoHo, and is described as "a private kitchen" noted for serving excellent Sichuan and Shanghainese cuisine fashioned from ingredients sourced directly from Sichuan. Unlike various other restaurants in Hong Kong, all of the food is devoid of any monosodium glutamate. The menu at Yellow Door Kitchen offers traditional favorites like Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles, Deep Fried Eel in Sweet and Sour Sauce, and Eight Treasures Shanghai-style Duck. Apart from its a la carte menu, the restaurant also offers substantial prix-fixe menus at lunch and dinnertime which include dim sum and dessert. -Anjeeta Nayar
