To me Yang Yang is the best truly homestyle restaurant in Chengdu. It is frequented by locals and foreigners alike. I did a course at the Sichuan Institute of Higher Cuisine and the food at Yang Yang is the closest to how I learned to cook Sichuan Cuisine. A must try is the Yu Xiang Qiezi, Shui Zhu Niu Rou, and the Ganbian Tudou si.
