Wellingrove Fossicking Reserve is located 22 kilometres north west of Glen Innes via Strathbogie/Bonshaw/Wellingrove Road. The Reserve is suited to the experienced fossicker. Sapphire and zircon are found in clay above a weathered granite bottom from the surface three metres down. Strict rules apply here which are explained at the entrance to the reserve. Water is available in dams on the site. The clay should be well puddled before being sieved. Please back fill your holes. No camping permitted.
