About
The best restaurant in the Brontë hometown, this spot is British to the core. In an inviting, informal atmosphere, it serves excellent food made with fresh ingredients. Jane and Colin Rushworth are quite talented in the kitchen. Dinners may include such classic dishes as slow-cooked Yorkshire lamb. If available, try one of the Gressingham ducks, which are widely praised in the United Kingdom. Other highly favored dishes include local farm chicken in a creamy green-peppercorn sauce or steamed filets of sea bass with a shallot-and-white-wine sauce. For dessert, try a British cheese or one of the homemade delicacies. The restaurant is likely to be closed for vacation for a certain period each summer, so call in advance to check. They also rent three bedrooms of high caliber that cost £95 ($190) for a double, including breakfast.
