About

The Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego (Warsaw Uprising Museum) is one of the newest additions to the city's efforts to commemorate its violent history, sharing the unbelievable story dear to the hearts of Warsaw natives. The museum commemorates the 63 days of armed resistance residents of Warsaw undertook against the Germans in the final days of World War II. Starting on October 1, 1944, civilians of Warsaw joined to form the Polish Homeland Army (Armia Krajowa), which fought German Nazis with homemade weapons and an ironclad determination. The new museum features lots of actual documents, photographs, military equipment and uniforms from the period in a very interactive way.
