Walking is perhaps the best way to visit all monuments and view points of Manali while soaking the overall experience of an idyllic laidback hill station especially with restrictions on vehicular movements. Mankey point is 3.5 kms from town centre is perhaps the most popular walk even though it has a few steep gradients in between. Kasuali Club, Baptist Church and Lord Hanuman Temple at Mankey point are popular stops for walkers. Honeymooners and genuine walking ehtnusiasts skip the regular walk routes and take more less trodden trails in the woods. The area around is full of thick Deodar and Pine forestsand therefore excellent for leisurely and moderately difficult half day walks.
