Avenida Paulista serves as a conduit for São Paulo's money and energy, art and culture. The 8-lane thoroughfare represents the drive and verve of the city, and many interesting cultural and artistic hubs have sprouted along its route and in nearby neighborhoods. Start off at the striking Centro da Cultura Judaica (Jewish Cultural Center) before hopping on the subway to Avenida Paulista itself. Stroll along the busy avenue and take in the exhilarating atmosphere of South America's largest metropolis, then take an art break at the Museu de Arte de São Paulo, followed by a rest stop at lush Parque Trianon. Continue on to the Centro Cultural São Paulo with its many rotating exhibitions, then have a meal and maybe a night of karaoke in São Paulo's Japantown, Liberdade.
