There is no finer alfresco dining in Opatija than at the exquisite terraced garden of Villa Ariston. Tables set among trees on levels decorated with pots of lavender and other flowers form a private bower by the sea. The menu is a blend of traditional Croatian and unbridled adventure, so go for one of the fresh fish dishes, or try the chicken breasts stuffed with truffles and mushrooms. Service at Villa Ariston is efficient but not hovering.
