In 1939, in the center of Athens, next to the cinema 'Orpheus' two traders Constantine Bardas and Dimitris Anagnostopoulos opened the first retail store. In an era where people buy fabric and sew only tailor both these traders fail to establish the finished garment (pret a porter) just as good as the 'bespoke'. After 60 years, shops VARDAS, having invested in good taste, elegance and quality, above all, have a steady influence and presence in the Greek clothing.
