Upsala Golf Club, UGK, was founded in 1937 by a group of people interested in golf in Uppsala Rotary Club. Already in the autumn of 1937, an agreement was concluded with the Royal. Uppland Regiment meaning that the land at the regimental training area at South Norby would be used as a golf course. The following year, 1938, was constituted club won entry into the Swedish gymnastic and sports clubs' Association, now the National Sports Confederation. In the same year was elected UGK as club No. 22 in the Swedish Golf Federation.
