One of the only sake breweries in the U.S., Gekkeikan Sake in Folsom is both unique and fun. At this modest facility, visitors can sample sake and plum wine (Kobai) in the tasting room, or take a self-guided tour of the beautifully landscaped grounds. Since one cannot live on drink alone, Gekkeikan also offers sushi-making classes (call 916/985-3111 for class schedules).
