Turkish Market at Maybachufer

Most Berliners need to leave the city fairly often to remind themselves of how much they actually love the place. But for those who are strapped for cash and time (or just love Berlin as it is), the Turkish Market acts as a stand-in for that trip to southern Europe you've been planning for so long. As soon as you exit the U-Bahn at Schönleinstrasse, you're caught in a whirlwind of hummus hockers, bargaining vegetable mongers, piles of fresh breads and sweets and women boiling fresh corn for you to enjoy as you stroll (or, more accurately, squeeze) through the market. If you're feeling a little fragile from a night well spent, the yelling children bombing about the place aren't going to do anything to help assuage your hangover, but a fresh fruit smoothie and a laze on the canal listening to the local musicians might.
