Triple J Tours offer one of the most inspiring tours in Western Australia. Daily cruises navigate a massive 55km stretch of river between Lake Argyle (or the Ord River Dam) and Kununurra. From modern and shaded vessels visitors on board witness an ecological system that has developed from the damming of the Ord River at two locations. The first of these was the Diversion Dam, which formed Lake Kununurra in 1963. The second was the construction of an enormous wall 55kms upstream in 1972, which created Lake Argyle. What has resulted in between is an area rich in wildlife, flora and scenic beauty. A selection of tours has been designed to highlight the Ord River as well as Lake Argyle. Customers can choose between spending an entire day on board, or combining a cruise with a scenic coach tour through âDurack Countryâ to Lake Argyle.
