Trekking in Dhauladhars

Kareri Lake is a high altitude, shallow, fresh water lake south of the Dhauladhar range approximately 9 km North West of Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh. Its surface is 2934 meters above the sea level. Kareri Lake is best known for being a trekking destination in the Dhauladhar Mountains. Snow melting from the Dhauladhar range serves as the source of the lake and a stream. The trek is moderate and offers spectacular Dhauladhar range, rising high above the Punjab plains offers a complete experience to a trekker. We tread on trails linking scared lakes, ancient temples and secluded Hindu villages and camp in verdant alpine meadows set beneath the snow capped backdrop of the Dhauladhar.
