The Chamba region receives less rain than the Kangra Valley to the south. A trek, particularly over the Pir Panjal into Lahaul is possible during the monsoon months (June to September). The ideal season, though, is just after the monsoon. There are several short and longer treks from Chamba and Bahrmaur in the Upper Ravi Valley.
