If you like your food ethnic and your atmosphere hale and hearty, you can enjoy the most authentic Catanian dining experience at the site of the lively fish market. If you don't like the day's offerings, one of the staff might step out to the market and buy a fish you like, cooking it to your specifications. Start with la triaca pasta, an excellent pasta in fresh bean sauce, or sarda al beccafico (sardines fried in bread crumbs with pecorino cheese). We're also fond of the spaghetti whipped with sea urchins in an extra-virgin olive oil with fresh garlic. One local dish that's highly favored is tonno con cipollata (broiled tuna with onions and a dash of vinegar). Most of the dishes are based on the sea, and the atmosphere is very rustic.
