The owner and chef, Mrs. Anna Carmela, claims that she serves cucina povera, which translates as "cooking of the poor." Don't get the wrong idea. At her rustic family trattoria, you are served some of the most authentic ingredients of the region. Begin with one of our favorite dishes -- purée of fava beans parboiled and mashed with a little olive oil and salt and served with sautéed chicory. We also are fond of her potato pie with mussels or her beef meatballs with a white-wine sauce. Only for aficionados do we suggest the filet of horse in a light spicy sauce.
