The Palm

About

Whether it’s for surfing, swimming, picnicking or relaxing, if there is a challenge to beaching it in The Palm Beaches and Boca Raton, it’s deciding which beach to choose. There are, after all, more than a dozen to pick from beginning at the northern edge of the county at Jupiter Beach Park. Here the parking is free and the beaches are wide. At the county’s opposite end, Boca Raton’s three public beaches offer five miles of magnificent seascape and all the pleasures that come along with a perfect stretch of sand. Many of the area beaches offer restrooms, showers, wheelchair access, picnic tables, grills and playgrounds, while other spots offer secret, off-the-beaten-path shores that few know about. Great fishing is also a favorite at The Palm Beaches. Casting a line off the Juno Beach Park Pier is a terrific choice for anglers, while the nearby Lake Worth Municipal Pier provides both fantastic fishing and good eats. Check out Benny’s On the Beach for delicious fare. Parking here is $2 per hour. Lantana is one of the oldest fishing villages in Florida, and the Lantana Public Beach offers plenty of beach and great amenities. Don’t miss the always popular Dune Deck Café overlooking the shore. Beach parking is 25 cents for 10 minutes. Looking for something a little more sophisticated Shopping along Worth Avenue is only steps away when beaching it in trendy Palm Beach. Palm Beach is also a great place to take up snorkeling. The shallows just off shore provide the perfect environment for exploring what lies beneath the crystal waters. Metered parking along the beach runs $5 per hour. In Delray Beach, you’ll find three miles of expansive public beach, restaurants and shops. This stylish beach town, known as the “village by the sea” will satisfy every need from gourmet dining to sophisticated shopping. Here you’ll find plenty of parking for $1.25 per hour. Looking for a summer deal Then Boynton Beach, as Palm Beach County’s third largest city, has it all. The Boynton Beach Municipal Park is a great place to stop. Along with a very well-maintained picnic area, a day at this beach comes with a playground and covered pavilions. The summer parking rate is $5 for a full day of fun. And then there are the secret beaches – the ones that only surfers and long-time, sun-loving residents know about. All it takes is an easy drive off A1A and a venture down one of the side streets heading East toward the ocean and you’ll find these bits of paradise waiting for you. The drive will be worth the discovery as you relax and bask in what will feel like your own private beach. This article is brought to you by The Palm Beaches CVB.
