The most notable and best known landmark of Sydney, the Sydney Opera House is an attraction that one just cannot miss. Designed by Danish architect JÃÂÃÂÃÂørn Utzon in 1956, it is known to have drawn inspiration from orange segments, palm fronds and Mayan temples. Open every day except Christmas and Good Friday, the Opera House conducts guided tours and of course, audiences can indulge in a visual treat at any one of the live opera performances held every day.
