About

The natural beauty of the North West and the combination of antique furnishings and modern facilities make this friendly, family run Mill Restaurant and guest house a very special place to visit. The Mill,in Dunfanaghy in County Donegal, was built between 1880-1900 by the Stewards of Ards who were the landlords at that time. In 1949 it was purchased by Frank Egginton, the well known water-colour artist, who converted it and lived there until his death in 1990. Now after being tastefully enlarged and modernised, it is the home of his grand-daughter and her family. The Mill Restaurant is a small friendly restaurant offering a relaxing but efficient service. Dinner is served between 7pm and 9pm, Tuesday to Sunday. The dinner menu changes seasonally using fresh produce from the local area. Derek and his small team produce food with a modern Irish flavour, with an emphasis on local seafood and shellfish.Their six ensuite bedrooms have been carefully decorated and combine antique furnishings with modern facilities, Wi-Fi, television, hair dryer and, tea and coffee making facilities. When you arrive you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and homemade shortbread in the conservatory overlooking the lake or relax in the sitting room with its open fire, perfect for the cooler evenings.Dunfanaghy and the surrounding area are full of great attractions to suit all ages and tastes.
