An award winning organisation, Leitrim Design House, in Carrick on Shannon, County Leitrim is synonymous with quality, design and originality and highlights the wealth of innovation and design talent in Ireland today. Recommended by the Craft Council of Ireland as a leading craft and design outlet in the country, this unique centre of excellence is housed in The Dock. This beautiful 19th Century building overlooks the majestic River Shannon.The former courthouse has been restored and acts as Leitrim's first integrated centre for the arts. A great location to purchase a special gift, an original piece of work, a hand crafted item or to commission something special and unique. It represents over 250 artists working in ceramics, glass, paper, wood, textiles, metal and jewellery, it offers visitors the very best in design, contemporary craft and visual art. The gallery hosts two major exhibitions each year, one in the autumn with a strong educational angle, and one in the spring, intended to be visually stimulating with something to appeal to all tastes and budgets. Solo and group exhibitions are offered to invited artists who can challenge, educate and initiate a response or connection with their audience.
