The Himalayan Nature Park

The Himalayan National Park is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Himachal Pradesh. Boasting of 180 species of birds and rare mammals, the national park is a great bio-diversity and eco tourism hub. Tourists can look forward to see musk deer and the elusive snow leopards, besides rare and endangered species of plants and animals. The best way to explore the park is to get oneself involved in a five to eight days trek that is organized by the park rangers at Sai Ropa Tourist Center and accompanied by the rangers. However, travel insurance that covers an emergency helicopter evacuation is a pre-requisite for the training. There are many temples located close to the Himalayan National Park; however, they are accessible only during the summer and fall months. Some of the local fairs and festivals (Fagli in February and Dussehra in October) held in the nearby located small villages are delightful attractions.
