The viewpoint at The Heads is a must-see attraction in Knysna. These formidable cliffs at the entrance to the lagoon is certainly Knysna's best known landmark. Directions to the view point at 'the top' are well signposted from George Rex Drive- the road is narrow and steep but there is usually ample parking at the viewpoint. One viewpoint faces over the Knysna lagoon with the mountains in the distance whilst the other faces the West Head and out to sea. There are usually African traders at the viewpoints and although the car guards are friendly and helpful be vigilant at all times, especially if taking the path east of the viewpoints. Other great views can be seen on the Brenton road with a fantastic point overlooking the lagoon above Belvidere and another further up the road facing Buffels Bay- ideal for sunsets!
