Franz Joseph Karl von Habsburg-Lothringen, from the Habsburg-Lothringen dynasty, (born on February 12 1768, Florence - d. 2 March 1835, Vienna) was the first emperor of the Austrian Empire (1806-1835) and before it, the last emperor of the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation (1792-1806), Francis II (Franz II). Along with the dignity of emperor, was also king of Bohemia, Hungary, great prince of Transylvania etc. He was the son of Emperor Leopold II (1747-1792) and his wife, Maria Luiza of Spain. After his father's death, he follows the throne, being crowned as emperor of the Holy Romanian Empire. As emperor of Austria he participated in coalitions anti Napoleon, being one of the founders of the Holy Alliances.
