In the Popoara cottage-and-rental complex just north of Ootu Pass, Allen and Maria Mills have adorned their large dining room with nautical and fishing paraphernalia, which is fitting because their best offerings are fish and chips, grilled or pan-seared fish of the day, and coconut-crusted shrimps. Indonesian nasi goring noodles and Asian beef stir-fries also were on the menu during my visit. The big windows swing open to provide a view of the sea.
