Newly built in 2002, The Beach Guesthouse is situated in a superb location overlooking Dunmore East Bay. This four star guesthouse provides luxury accommodation, stunning sea views and private parking. The beach is right on the doorstep, just cross the street to take a plunge in the sea. Guest bedrooms are furnished and decorated to the highest standard with bath/shower ensuite, tea/coffee making facilities, satellite TV, clock radio, hairdryer, trouser press and direct dial telephone. Some rooms have sea views and some rooms have a private balcony. The Beach also provides room service.The breakfast menu has a wide choice to suit all tastes. All local amenities including Dunmore East's many restaurants and pubs are within walking distance and some are just across the street. There are also many sporting activities nearby including four championship golf courses within 10 miles.You can take a drive along the scenic route from Dunmore East along the coast to Passage East, a little fishing village, passing the long sandy beach at Woodstown enroute. Continue on to Cheekpoint, another small village with some very good restaurants. In Passage East you can drive on the carferry that takes you to Ballyhack in County Wexford in minutes. From there you can drive to Hook Lighthouse approximately 30 minutes away. This is one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe. There is a heritage centre, cafe and craft shop. You can climb to the top of the lighthouse and get a wonderful view of the Wexford and Waterford coastline.Alternatively, heading westward from Dunmore East along the coast to Tramore, you will see some beautiful scenery, lovely coves and hamlets. Venture further along on to Dungarvan and you will pass spectacular coastline and pass through the lovely villages of Annestown, Bonmahon and Stradbally. With the Comeragh mountains on your right you arrive in Dungarvan, a bustling market town. Just outside Dungarvan is the Gaeltacht area of Ring, where Irish is the spoken language in the community. Continue along the coast to the popular seaside resort of Ardmore, which was a 5th century monastic settlement. This trip should take just over an hour in total.Waterford City, about 10 miles from Dunmore East is a busy port and popular shopping area and is also home to Waterford Crystal, the world famous hand cut glass.
