Looks can be deceiving: This hole in the wall has been serving excellent food to regulars for over 20 years (many of whom have left behind notes on the walls and ceilings). Specialties are the extra-spicy ramen, the ggoma gimbap (mini-seaweed rice rolls), and bbalgaeddeok (a "red" rice-cake dish). Hidden in a small alley is this rundown original that has spawned a line of instant noodles and chain stores throughout Korea. Don't be fooled by the menu on the wall -- there's an extra zero on the prices just to get the customers talking.
