The ancient baths of the Roman were built around the 1st Century B.C. and were destroyed in 79 A.D. by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. These baths were discovered in 1958 and were subsequently restored for public visits. The walls of the bath contains elegant mosaics and frescoes that are erotic in nature.
