Tchaikovsky

Oktober 6 utca 5 Cuisines: European

About

Behind a modest exterior on the dusty, bustling Oktober 6 utca is a place reminiscent of the luxuries of times gone by. Leave the dirty street and enter another world. The opulence and amazing decor will knock you out with its ostentatious luxury. Tchaikovsky recreates the lost world of Tsarist Russia with chandeliers dripping with gold and ornate marble pillars. The clientèle is wealthy Hungarians, homesick Russian businessmen and anyone else who can afford it. Tchaikovsky is not cheap but you can sample authentic Russian dishes as well as some unusual concoctions. Start, of course with caviar and a shot of ice-cold vodka. Quail's eggs are also available if you really want to go over the top. Luxury items such as Astrakhan sturgeon bump up the bill even more. A business menu at a much-reduced price is also available on weekdays.
