The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart is Tasmania's premier museum. It is situated in a collection of 19th century historic buildings immediately north of Hobart's famous docks area. It has fine Tasmanian colonial history and art collections, Tasmanian natural wonders, including a special collection of treasures related to the extinct Tasmanian tiger or thylacine, as well as a collection of antique Tasmanian furniture.
