The Tara Devi Temple is among the most celebrated shrines in the region, stationed at a height of 6,070 feet above sea level. Dedicated to the Goddess of stars, the temple is visited by tourists and devotees in large numbers. This temple of high religious significance is believed to be built over 250 years ago. The shrine of Tara Goddess is situated on Tara Devi Mountain between Shoghi and Shimla. According to legend, the goddess keeps vigil on everyone resting on a hill top, showering innumerable blessings to her devotees. The devotees are served with a meal known as 'langar' on every Sunday.
