Tapovan

Tapovan,a sacred place, is located at a distance of about 5 km from the city of Dehradun. It is a scenic place on the banks of the sacred Ganges.This place is known for its popular belief that Guru Dronacharya had undergone his penance here. Guru Dronacharya was the Guru of the Kauravas and the Pandavas in the epic Mahabharata. This belief leads to the curiosity among the tourists as well as the religious people.It is a very holy place which radiates spirituality in the air. It spreads devotion and as it is situated close to river Ganga which adds to the holiness of the place.
