It started as a toll booth, but as toll did not exist anymore since 1898, it was turned into a shop for milk trade. Due to the strategic location, at the main road to Hilversum, it was set up as a road cafe for thirsty horse riders. It has been a road cafe ever since and it's still a nice place to order a coffee or beer. Don't expect to be served here on Saturdays or Sundays, as it's closed in weekends!
