97 hectares of protected woodland and "unspoiled countryside" in the northern suburbs of Maroussi, Kifissia and Melissia. It is home to native flora and fauna of Greece including rare birds and the Mediterranean land tortoise. Enjoy the shade on winding dirt trails along with joggers, mothers with strollers, and some cyclists. Some buildings on the park include the Syngrou Mansion, the cattle shed, and the church of St. Andrew, all works of famed architect of Neoclassical Athens, Ernst Ziller. There are also some greenhouses and an open air theater. By metro on Line 1 (ISAP) to Maroussi or KAT; by bus nos. 550, A7, B7, or E7 along Kifissias Avenue. By car from Athens, turn right through the entrance gate at the lights for the "KAT" turnoff on Kifissias Avenue. Parking is available. Open from dawn to dusk.
