Built in the 19th century, the Swiss National Museum (Landesmuseum) is German-speaking Switzerland's best collection of Swiss history and culture. The permanent exhibition features a section on the history of Switzerland covering prehistoric times to current events and a section of traditional Swiss apparel presenting clothing from the 18th to the 21st century. The museum is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 7:00 PM closing time of Thursdays.
