Supannee was born in a rice-farming village in Korat, Thailand. She spent her formative years living off the land with her mother, father and nine siblings. Most of what the family ate was raised on their farm.She moved to San Diego in 1995 and attended National University, where she obtained a Masters in International Business. While studying, she worked as a server at Royal Thai Cuisine in La Jolla, and that's where she met her husband, Alec.
