Sunset Station

1174 East Commerce Street

About

Originally constructed in 1902 as a Southern Pacific Railroad Depot, Sunset Station (right outside the Alamodome) was sectioned off into four venues: The Depot, (which is on the National Historic Register), The Spire, The Crown and The Pavilion. There is plenty to enjoy in terms of nightlife here: The Lone Star Pavilion is an outdoor live music venue, while Club Agave offers up the merengue beat of Latin salsa. The Sunset Saloon now features jazz music, while Studio 794 offers hip-hop, rhythm and blues and a special section for high-tech video game junkies. The renovation work on the complex overall is gorgeous, and there is plenty of space (10,000 square feet, to be exact) to dance and mingle. Sunset Station's core business is centered on meetings and special events.
