Sukhanandji Ashram
About
Sukhanandji Ashram is situated on the border of Rajasthan, about 32 km from Neemuch. This Ashram is in an ancient rocky cave. It is believed that there is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in this complex. Apart from this, this ashram is also known for its panoramic natural scenery. The founder of this ashram is Suk, who was the son of Vyasdev. Vyasdev or Vedavya was the first person who wrote Bharata Samhita which contains 24,000 verses. Suk is also known as Sukdev or Brahmarat, which according to mythological texts is a magnificent character and related to Vaishnava religion. Every year tourists come here in large numbers. Two fairs are held every year in this Ashram, which is the main attraction of this place. A fair is held for greening Amavasya and the other is Baisakh Purnima. Due to both these fairs, the tourism of Neemuch has increased.
