Sudwala Caves

Among the oldest caves in the world, the Sudwala Caves are one of the must-see attractions for visitors to Nelspruit. Formed from Pre-cumbrian dolomite over the course of some 3,000 million years, these ancient caverns offer a unique and amazing view into the history of the Earth. Tours take visitors 600 meters/1,968 feet in and 150 meters/492 feet down into the caves, and cost R50 for adults 16 years and older, R40 for senior citizens 60 years and older, and R25 for children 15 years of age or younger. To visit the caves, take the N4 35 kilometers/21.7 miles west of Nelspruit, then take the R539 8 kilometers/4.9 miles north.
