About
A wood-beamed wine-tasting loft and a cozy biergarten are the last things you expect on this corner, next to a busy bazaar and a somewhat seedy suburban train station. Stop in for a glass of wine from a small French vintner; spicy, hefty khinkali meat dumplings; or a hot cappuccino. Photos of old European cities complement the wall mural of a mythical "Old Town," which is what Stary Gorod means in English. The place is a slightly confusing mélange of Russian, European, and Georgian tastes, which is an accurate reflection of Muscovite tastes in recent years. It is away from the main tourist sights but is right outside a metro station, and is a great place for an authentic, nontouristy meal. There's no English menu, but the manager and owner can help translate.
