This church dates back to the 15th century A.D. and it is dedicated to St. Francis Xavier, a Catholic priest who came to India. Church of St. Mary. St Xavier Church was later renovated in 1865 and the Church of St. Mary was taken over. In the year 1930, St Xavier Church rose to the status of a Cathedral.
