t Donats Arts Centre is a unique venue in a unique setting in the grounds of a medieval castle overlooking the sea. The professionally equipped theatre is a converted 14th Century Tythe Barn and the visual arts Gallery dates back many centuries. In contrast, the modern, architecturally-designed ‘Glass Room’ hosts performances and offers stunning views across the sea towards the Exmoor hills. Together they create one of the most inspired and inspiring public buildings in Wales. The Arts Centre’s superb location makes a visit to St Donats unforgettable for audiences and an inspiration to visiting artists. It is a unique building providing world-class arts events in the grounds of one of the oldest continually inhabited castles in Britain. These events range from popular films, world renowned musicians, the UK’s largest storytelling festival, arts and crafts workshops and events for children. St Donat's Arts Centre holds up to 326 arts events in a festival year (up to 180 in a non festival year) as well as workshops, outreach work and educational arts programmes The Vale of Glamorgan and its surroundings are rich with artists, craftspeople and photographers and the gallery provides an opportunity for them to share their creativity with audiences and visitors to the arts centre.
