The Shri Pratap Singh (SPS) Museum was set up arround 1898 AD.This richly endowed historical museum features Mughal papier-mâché work, 4th-century tiles, 8th-century gods, stuffed birds, mammoth bones, weaponry and traditional Kashmiri costumes, all within the touchingly unkempt 1872 Lalmandi Palace of Maharajah Pratap Singh. It's accessed from central Srinagar by a footbridge across the Jhelum River then by shimmying through frightening coils of razor wire. Entry Fee: Rs/- 50 per person Foreigner.
