1836 Opened David Sprüngli on the market alley in Zurich, the  Confiserie Sprüngli & Fils  . From 1845, Sprüngli was among the pioneers of Swiss chocolate producer and was instrumental in mind the still existing reputation of  Swiss chocolate  to establish worldwide as the best. In 1859, David and his son Rudolf Sprüngli secured on little frequented Paradeplatz a property, because they hoped that the station would be built here.
