The Shackleton Outdoor Education Centre is based at Colaiste Dhulaigh, a College of Further Education in Coolock County Dublin that provides training for those seeking a career in the outdoors. It offers a one-year certificate in Outdoor Recreation for those keen to develop land and water-based adventure skills. While it's Higher National Diploma in 'Outdoor Adventure Management', a three-year full time programme that combines land and water-based instructorships with business and marketing is designed for those interested in developing centre management skills.This challenging course provides students with the opportunities to develop the practical skills, knowledge and qualifications necessary to gain employment in the adventure sector of the tourism and leisure industry. The Shackleton course has gained a reputation as one of Ireland’s foremost outdoor adventure courses, with ex students working all over the world in the field of outdoor adventure.
