Sewri Fort
Sewri East
About
The Sewri Fort which stands on a small hill near the Sewri train station, was built by the British as a check post against the Portuguese who held the land across Mithi River (called Salsette Island). With the Sewri Mangrove Park close by, you get a great view of the creek and the flamingos. The fort itself is not in great shape; however, a renovation and construction of an amphitheater is planned. In the mean time this seldom visited fort makes for a great get-away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
