About

The Secwepemc (pronounced "She-whep-m," anglicized as Shuswap) people have lived along the Thompson River for thousands of years. This 4.8-hectare (12-acre) heritage park contains an actual archaeological site inhabited 2,400 to 1,200 years ago, plus reconstructions of traditional villages from five different eras. Also featured are displays of native plants and their traditional uses; and a replica of a salmon-netting station.
