The Saptaparni Cave is situated atop a hill namely Vaibhava Hill and witnessed a very historic event of first Buddhist Council . This council was held here after six months after the 'Mahaparinirvana' of lord Buddha. This council was attended by over 500 monks from all over the world and was led by Buddha's chief disciple namely Maha Kashyapa
