At this nature center at the San Elijo Lagoon, people can study the ecological reserve or venture out onto the San Elijo Nature Center's seven miles of trails. Along with showing the ecological side of the San Elijo Lagoon, the San Elijo Nature Center was designed and built with green principles, which attracts various types of birds from around the world. Throughout the month, docents and naturalists of the San Elijo Nature Center lead tours that explore the area's flora, fauna, and history. Inside the Nature Center, visitors can enjoy one of the many exhibits, which exemplify the many natural resources of the San Elijo Lagoon and the green design of the building. - Erick Pettersen
