Rug is a rare example of a little-altered private chapel of the 17th century. Its plain exterior gives little hint of the riches within. Carved angels appear as part of an elaborate roof decorated from end to end. The skills of local artists and woodcarvers are to be seen everywhere, even in the bench ends decorated with fantastic carvings.
